Christmas spicy cookies recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- ½ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 whole eggs
- 1 tbs yogurt
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cloves
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
Recipe
- Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius or 356 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until pale and fluffy and the sugar has mostly dissolved.
- Add the eggs one at a time beating thoroughly between each egg until completely mixed.
- Add the vanilla essence and yogurt and mix until completely mixed.
- In a separate bowl, sift all the dry ingredients and whisk together until completely mixed.
- Using a spatula, fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients a little at a time until completely mixed.
- Wrap the dough in cling film and chill in the fridge for 15 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and cut into the desired shapes. Place on an ungreased baking tray and bake for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and serve with tea or coffee.
