Susan Nsibirwa appointed Managing Director, Monitor Publications Ltd
Effective January 2, 2024, Susan Nsibirwa will replace Tony Glencross as Managing Director of the Monitor Publications Ltd, bringing to an end Glencross’s tenure that saw the company through Covid-19.
Nsibirwa is a founding partner of Urge Uganda Limited, a communications agency that works with diverse organisations to support their growth by solving marketing and communication challenges.
She is a highly motivated, skilled and performance driven marketing communications professional with over 20 years of experience, 12 years of these in a senior executive role successfully leading corporate marketing and communications teams and departments across diverse industries. She is highly adaptable to new products, markets and industries and embraces opportunities to learn and gain knowledge quickly.
Susan is a strategic thinker with proven communication and presentation skills, expert public speaker in English, French and Luganda and with established media networks. She is a high achiever with high moral character and integrity.
Susan was the Head of Marketing and Communications at Vision Group from 2011 to 2019. She also served on the company’s Executive and Procurement Committees as well as other project teams.
Other previous jobs were at DFCU Bank (Head of Marketing, 2006-2010); Commercial Microfinance (2005-2006), MTN (U) Ltd (2002-2005); Saatchi & Saatchi (1992-2002); ScanAd Uganda (1995-1997) and the French Embassy (1992-1994).
Susan has served as Chairman, Uganda Media Owners Association- UMOA (2017-2019), having previously served on the Association’s Executive Committee. She has also served as a Communications Advisor to Uganda Red Cross, in a voluntary capacity. Currently she sits on the Board of African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME), BasicNeeds UK, in Uganda, a Non-Governmental Organisation that tackles mental health issues in Northern Uganda, Footsteps Furniture and Uganda Marketer’s Society (UMS).
