The two women will represent Uganda, with Oroma in the women’s 1500m T13 and 400m T13 while Kukundakwe will participate in the 100m butterfly S8, the Women’s 100m breaststroke SB8 and Women’s 50m freestyle S8.

Visually impaired Oroma, who will be making her second Games appearance after Tokyo 2020, will hope for better fortunes in Paris after failing to start in the 400m T13 final during the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris in July 2023.

Husnah Kukundakwe is a remarkable Ugandan para-swimmer who has garnered international attention for her extraordinary talent and determination. Born with a congenital limb deformity, Kukundakwe has defied the odds to become one of Uganda’s leading athletes in the Paralympic community. She began swimming at a young age and quickly demonstrated an exceptional ability in the sport, which led to her participation in international competitions.

Kukundakwe made her Paralympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, where she competed in the women’s 100m breaststroke. Despite being one of the youngest athletes in the competition, she impressed with her resilience and performance, serving as an inspiration to many.
