Sheebah’s farewell for now
For a while, Artiste Sheebah Karungi had been announcing that after her October 4 concert, she would take a break from performing, which further fuelled the pregnancy rumours. Well, last Friday evening, all those rumours were put to bed after she performed with a baby bump during her Neyanziza concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
This concert was much more than music. It was the unveiling of Sheebah’s pregnancy to the public and also proving her superiority in the industry. Cricket Oval was among the missing pieces of the puzzle for Sheebah as she had previously had concerts at Freedom City as well as Africana and Serena Hotels respectively.
With most female artistes including Spice Diana, Cindy and Winnie Nwagi all having a go at the Oval, she felt she was the only one left out and by Saturday morning she had done exactly what her predecessors had done. Getting huge numbers in attendance.
Long lines were seen at the venue by 2pm and by 9pm, the venue was fully packed, with many being turned away.
Inside the venue, Sheebah fans were in a jovial mood, singing, drinking and dancing to deejay mixes, waiting for their artiste to make a public appearance.
At 9pm, the self-proclaimed Queen Karma took to the stage, clad in an outfit that exposed her baby bump and with this sight, the audience was excited, shouting at the top of their voices.
With the signal of the bass guitar, Sheebah started off her performance with Ninda, following it up with Enyanda, Ndiwanjawulo, Akusse, Twesana, Beera Nange, Exercise, John Rambo, Ekyama and Nkwatako during her first session before leaving the stage for Pallaso, Weasel, Beenie Gunter and Karole Kasita to entertain her fans.
Forty minutes later, she returned for her second set with Muwe, Mummy Yo, Kansalewo, Nkujukira, an acoustic set with Aronnix on Njalwala, Sirwana with Carol Nantongo, Muwomya with King Saha, Nkwata Bulunji, Boyfire, Jordan and Tunwe before taking another break.
Crysto Panda, Grenade Official and Lydia Jazmine then took it up from there before Sheebah returned with a choir to sing Neyanziza.
She then proceeded with Nakyuka, Wakikuba, Busy Nnyo, Sweet Sensation, Sipimika with Young Mulo, Bwepaba with Fik Fameica, Sitani with Kabako and lastly Wankonakona at 1am.
Sheebah thanked her fans for turning up in big numbers and always believing in her.
